One fine day I wanted to explore the Beautiful Coastal town- MURUDESHWAR in Coastal Karnataka. This sleepy beach city is around 3 ½ hours by Train from my hometown Mangalore. I have had heard of this town since long but just could not make it. So I wanted to make it this time at any cost. So I got up early in the morning at 4:30 brushed my teeth, did my normal Yogasanas , had bath, packed my bag and setout to the Railway Station. I caught the Mangalore – Goa Passenger Train. The Train started on time at 6:50. After an Hour reached the temple town of Udupi, there I had idli Vada it was very tasty. At around 10:30 reached the destination Murudeshwara. Railway station was so peaceful and quite. Many of my friends had told me that there is a very big Temple of Lord Shiva, so I took an Autorickshaw and asked him to take me to that Particular Temple. It took just 5 minutes to reach the temple. Wow I was astonished to see the temple. It was very big with a mighty Gopuram, which can equal a 20 storied Building. I went inside and had a very energizing darshan of Lord Shiva. This temple is located on the Sea beach. Just behind this temple almost on the sea there is a very huge statue of Lord Shiva. A local person told me that 3 persons can easily sit on the ears of Lord Shiva’s Statue !!! This statue can be viewed from very far off places too. Since this Temple is on the beach I could find many of them playing on this Virgin sunkissed beach. Even there were boat rides. I just wanted to have some snack, so I bumped into a Restaurant which was closeby …. This fantastic restaurant is half on the sea!!!!! They had constructed concrete pillars and constructed this wonderful building. It was very wonderful to sit in this restaurant and have eatables….I ordered for Masala dosa and Coffee.
I remembered that my friends had said that here we get authentic fish curry. So I landed up at a Restaurant and ate some mouth watering fish curry with rice……
Later evening I too a Train Back to Mangalore, it was a very fantastic trip..
