On March 6th, 2009, I had been to SriKalahasthi, Chitoor District, Andhra Pradesh.
On 5th Night, I started from our house and went to Majestic Bus Stand and boarded the bus to Tirupathi. It is almost 260 km from Bangalore. There are plenty of buses plying from Bangalore to Tirupathi every 10 Minutes.
I climbed the bus at 9.30 p.m. and reached Tirupathi at 4.00 A.M. on 6th March, 09. I took the bus from Tirupathi to Srikalahasthi which is 20 Kms away from Tirupathi and reach Srikalahasthi by 5.30 A.M. I took a bath from outside and boarded the luggage in the clock room from private Service Providers for Rs. 25/- (M/s. Sri Srivsai Luggage Office, 3-3981, Nehru Road, SriKalahasti)
After refreshing myself and bath, I went inside the temple and 1st I entered Patala Ganapathi temple which is small underground temple. Which is 20 feet below, one has bow down carefully to worship God. I bouth one ticket (Rs. 250/-) for Rahu-Ketu Pooja, which will be performed beautifully upto the level of satisfaction in the hall opp to kalahastheeswara temple.
After Rahu Ketu Pooja, from there directly I went to worship kalahastheeswara (Lord Shiva). I bought special entrance ticket (30 Rs) and went in the queue and had a nice darshan. Next I went to Sri Gnana Prasoonambika (Parvathi, wife of Lord Shiva). Here Goddess is in standing position and blessed her devotees.
On the side of that premises there is god in unjal (cradle) where we bow down and pray. If we pray there, our prayers will be fulfilled by God. On the top of the unjal devottees tied Bangles, Mangala sharadu, and Cradle, and prayed for their desires to fulfill.
With the great satisfaction of our darshan I came out side the premises of the temple and then I lighted my seasame deepam (Which I took from my home made out of seasame seeds bundled by black cloth soaked in seasame thailam) I bought naivaidya laddu from prasadam counter and came out with a great pleasure.
I had breakfast at outside temple and I continued my onward journey to Tirupathi at 10.30 A.M. Posted by : B.S. Kumar, Head Constable from Karnataka State Police, Bangalore.(mail me ur opinion at
