Most of the places to stay are along Dr Salim Ali Road, which runs from Bharatpur town to the entrance of the Park.

It is set amidst 50 sprawling acres in Kakaji-ki-Kothi on the old Agra-Jaipur road. The palace was built in 1899 for the younger brother of the erstwhile Bharatpur ruler, Maharaja Ram Singh. It has hosted dignitaries such as the Duke of Edinburgh and the Shah of Iran. Jeep safaris and return transfers to the sanctuary and railway station are offered, apart from 26 well-appointed rooms and a bar.
