Where to Eat
The food served at the Horticulture Department's Guest House in Kemmannagundi is not all that great. If you are travelling with kids, bring along snacks because there are no shops nearby. Try dilpasand from any roadside stall. This is bread filled with sweetmeats and coconut, so heavy it lands with a thud in your belly.
In Chikmagalur the most frequented restaurants are the ones in hotels. The Planters Court is popular as the middle option between the Taj and the rest. They serve a good South Indian breakfast at their drive-in and do Chinese well too. The food at The Taj is quite disappointing, though it's fun eating by the pool. |
