Where to Eat
A lot of restaurants and cafes dot the town of Manali. A multitude of cuisines welcome your taste buds here. New Manali offers a variety of Indian cuisines and aims primarily at the Indian tourist. They are a little expensive but the food is good in the hotels. There are also many chai stalls that serve tea and a few local snacks. There are many dhabas which serve excellent Punjabi food and are quite reasonably priced. Dhabas like the Annu Punjabi dhaba and the Himalayan Dhaba are on the Mall road. Other dhabas that you can go to are in Manu Market are The Lajawab Chicken Bar and Chandigarh Chicken House. Mayur, opposite Manu Market (left side of the main town) is one of the oldest restaurants in Manali and serve excellent Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. Their western food is also quite good. Khyber is an expensive restaurant that has good d?r and large windows from where you can view the town. It has good Indian food. Chopsticks is a Chinese restaurant near the Bus Stand and serves very good pork. You can get the best Tandoori chicken in Manali in Manu Market. The tandoori fare here will have you begging for more.
Manu Cafe located near the Manu temple serves basic food at cheap rates. Little Tibet is a restaurant that is on the way to Old Manali and serves good Italian dishes, though they are a bit expensive. Nearby is the Shiva Garden Caf?hich is cheaper and has equally good food and a good view. A little further away is Yangkhor which sells Tibetan food. Opposite this is the Caf?analsu which offers a fantastic view of the Manalsu River, besides reasonable food. Il Forno on the Hidamba Temple road had excellent Italian food and Italian desserts, but is a bit expensive. |
