Where to Eat
Food is another of Kashmir's marvels. Overwhelmingly meat-based, its most famous preparations Rista and Gushtaba take many hours to be cooked. First the meat is pounded boneless, marinated and then put through a series of processes before it comes to the table. Every meal is round off with green, spiced tea called Kahwa, served from gleaming samovars. For some traditional fare as well as snacks like patties, pastries and kathi kabab, there?s nothing to beat Ahdoos (on Shervani Road). It is also famous for its afternoon tea. If you love Chinese, then there's nothing better than Lhasa, Boulevard. Recommended are homemade noodles, American chopseuy and momos.Ruby (Lambert Lane) is popular for authentic Kashmiri food, especially kababs.
