Aghar Jitto  
(5 km)

This is the shrine of Baba Jitto, known for his devotion to Mata Vaishno Devi and a revolutionary who rose against the feudal order. The shrine is 5 km from Katra. Dera Baba Banda: This important Hindu-Sikh pilgrimage is about 30 km from Katra. Baba Banda Bairaagi was Guru Gobind Singh's most loved disciple and spent his last days here. A dip in the spring near the shrine is supposed to ensure safe delivery for pregnant women.


Baba Dhansar  
(10 km)

A popular picnic spot just 10 km from Katra, there is a huge spring which cascades into a number of small waterfalls before flowing into the Banganga. Don't miss the naturally formed Shivlinga on which droplets of water fall naturally all the year round.


Shiv Khori  
(75 km)

About 100 km from Jammu and about 75 km from Katra, this holy cave is nearly a kilometre long and houses a 4-ft high, naturally formed Shivlinga. The town hosts a big fair on Shivratri day every year. For accommodation, contact the J&K Tourism Development Corporation.
