Travel Tips

- Bargaining with auto rickshaw drivers is highly recommended, whether you are in the city or the outskirts. There is no meter system with the rickshaws here.
- As far as possible, pre-book a taxi from a hotel or travel agent if you're arriving to Visakhapatnam by flight or train. Taxis also work on flat rates, there's no metering system.
- Visakhapatnam is well connected by bus. Traveling by bus is not a problem, but you need to ask someone the bus number which will ply between certain routes of the city.
- The day time in Visakhapatnam is hot & humid, so plan your sightseeing trips 4 pm onwards. Carry sunscreen lotions & umbrellas. Visakhapatnam faces erratic monsoons, so you never know when you'll encounter a downpour.
